This is how the Porsche Company treated their #1 designer by deleting his picture
Erwin Komenda
Erwin Komenda joined Porsche 1931,chief engineer head of Porsche coachwerk 1955-1966
designer of the most recognized automobile shapes as the VW Beetle,Porsche 356,550 speedster,904 and the 911.
Ferdinand Porsche Sr. assumes credit for the 356 and VW Beetle and Ferdinand (Butzi) Porsche for 911 design.
The Truth is that Butzi had to quickly quit his education because he failed his examinations and did not have the technical skills to construct the 904 and 911.
Erwin Komenda's fundamental character and conflicts with the Porsche family would become fatal. In 1965 Komenda vanished from the Porsche scene and passed suddenly in 1966 at the age of 62.
Ferdinand (Butzi) Alexander was head of design department from 1962 to 1972.
The first 911 prototype (nicknamed "Sturmvogel",vin 13321 with a 4 cylinder engine) already existed in 1962.
"Sturmvogel" WWII jet fighter Me 262 "was the first operational jet aircraft,as such it was both a technical success and a tactical failure".
